Slogging or is it Slugging?

A lot has changed since I last saw you, dear blog, however unfortunately what hasn’t changed is my writing habit.

Obviously, my subconscious is stronger than my conscious mind…else why would I still be going around the same merry-go-round going on God knows how many years…I’ve lost count!

Or, maybe it’s just one of those things that every writer has to work through in a manner that suits both their personality and their particular situation.

Either way, it stinks.

I figure if people who have a full-time job away from home can keep a writing routing, what in the heck am I still doing mucking about?

Ah, the red squirrels…red herrings…shiny baubles and/or trinkets…I’m bad as a Magpie, I tell you!

Focus and Refocus

First, the focus part.

My focus has been everywhere lately, and for good reason…there’s been a lot going on in my personal life, plus my client workload has increased too, but there’s no excuse. As I said earlier, people hold down full-time jobs, away from the house, and they find the time to write.

NO MORE EXCUSES!

Next, the “refocus” part. Although I probably could have come up with a better heading, I think it suits what I’m trying to say.

And that is, that my habit of editing while I write has to stop.

I suppose it serves me in some capacity for my content creation and copywriting, however truth be told it probably slows me down there too.

Am I writing on a typewriter?

No.

Is it super, duper easy to go back here and there and change a line?

Yes, very easy.

So why do I self correct? Aghh!

Habit. Habit. Habit.

Time for a new, improved habit, eh?

Wish me luck…
