Just dropping by my virtual home (poor thing, needs some love…maybe a few cushions, some curtains…she’s looking pretty threadbare…) before jumping into my work day.
I’ve been thinking about where I want my business(es) to go.
As far as the book writing goes, for a long time I’ve been beating myself up about getting the writing done…comparing myself to others (in terms of productivity) and in general feeling frustrated because I’m not where I want to be.
No more.
One bite at a time of the proverbial elephant, right?
Okay, any more tired cliche’s hanging around?
Probably, but that’s okay, get them out…release them…lol
I am writing, just not publishing.
So that’s good, right?
Client work
On the “day job” front I’ve learned some things about myself (or rather, finally admitted some things that I already knew).
I work better ALONE.
Now, I don’t mind working with a team, but truth be told, I’m more of a solo kind of person.
Funny thing…when I worked in an office for a title insurance company (in a former life) I had no problems working with others, but now that I think about it more, the specific work that I did – searching public records for the chain of title (ownership, liens, etc.) didn’t require a lot of input from others.
I knew what needed done, and I did it.
No wonder I’m feeling frustrated!
I guess I can be kind of slow sometimes…
You see, I’d been “promoted” to a position of Marketing Manager for a client. Which has led to me feeling more like an employee than a “free agent” (the term my client uses for outsourcers).
Thankfully, the person who “promoted” me, agreed that the job wasn’t a fit and has let me go back to doing what I was doing…content creation.
Which requires some direction and guidance, but for the most part…it’s my baby and that’s the way I like it, uh huh, uh huh, I like it! (sorry about that…music jumps into the ol’ bean sometimes)
So anyway, on with my day. See you next time!
