Still Here…

Hi everyone! Been a while, I know, but I’m not abandoning this blog…not by a long shot.

I’m simply evaluating my options.

There are so many ways to make a living as a writer these days, and for that I am truly thankful. In spite of the state of the world right now, I know that I was born for this time in history.

This purpose of this blog is shifting, more towards topics about the culture, the Church, etc..

Confusion reigns

In all honesty, right now I’m not sure where my fiction writing is headed. I finished the prequel to my second “Blue Lake” story, but my beta reader was rather harsh in his review.

All I wanted to know was whether or not he liked it, and if he would pay money to read it. He went into a huge diatribe about genre “norms” and a lot of other stuff that frankly I can’t remember right now, but the bottom line is, it was very discouraging.

Of course it didn’t help that at the same time my biggest client dropped me, so maybe that had something to do with it, I don’t know.

All I know is that I’ve been really feeling frustrated, wondering if I should even bother continuing with the fiction, and in fact, not even knowing if I still want to write it at all.

I feel myself being tugged towards non-fiction, but then when I consider a topic (e.g. the Church and her role in helping the occult take hold of our country) I tell myself who am I to write on the topic, I’m not a minister, bible scholar, etc…

Ever feel that way?

I’m still on the hunt for regular copywriting clients – have had a few here and there, but no regulars yet.

Still here? Man, you must be bored! 😉 Enough of the complaining, right?

Never promised this would be a “whine free” zone, but I’m getting kind of sick of my whining, too!

Okay, so here’s the plan as far as my fiction goes….as I said before, I’ve finished my story, so now I’m going to skim through it for typos and upload it to Smashwords and Amazon to let the readers decide if it stinks or not!

Then maybe I’ll see about writing that non-fiction book. Once I’ve put together a short outline, I’ll post it here and see if anyone has any ideas or comments about what should be discussed.

Is anyone game to help?
