It’s been WAY TOO LONG since I’ve visited my poor little blog…much too long.

I’m sorry to say I’ve not written much fiction and I’m letting the nonfiction work for clients consume too much of my time.

It’s honestly a time management issue on my part, so that means it’s up to me to remedy it.

I’m about 2000 words into a prequel of sorts for my book Murder in Blue Lake. My protagonist, heartbroken, wants to make a fresh start in a new world…Earth.

Not sure when or how she will meet Slade, but it’s in my mind for the two of them to connect about the middle of the story where they will be thrown together to solve a case, etc.

I’ve never tried to do a prequel before, so should be interesting. I’ve only just written stand alone stories. How do writers keep details straight, anyway? I write a story and then it’s pretty much out of my head when I start the next one.

Oh well, it’s a learning process, right?

And as so many long time writers tell me, I’ve got to practice, practice, practice.

Good thing that “talent” is simply a measure of your skills at a certain point in time and that it can be “increased/improved” over time as you what? Yeah, practice, practice, practice!

So that’s me right now. Trying to arrange my schedule so that not only do I meet my obligations for clients, but that I have time for both my family and the writing.

Other writers have done it and continue to do it…so can I.
